Constantine Maroulis turned another year older on Saturday, September 17th. The Season 4 finalist has had quite a busy year!
In December, Constantine became a father to baby Malena. He spent the year touring around the United States with the national tour of the musical Rock of Ages in the role of Drew, which earned him a Tony Award nomination in 2009. In fact, Constantine remains the only Idol to date who received a Tony nomination. We caught up with Constantine at Los Angeles’ Pantages Theatre to find out more about his experience with Rock of Ages.
Now that the U.S. tour is over, Constantine continues to be as busy as ever! In Brooklyn, NY, the Idol alum performed with Stone Temple Pilots. Constantine can currently be seen in commercials for Rock Star Mickey, where he performs a cover version of The Kinks’ “You Really Got Me.” His cover of the song is available on iTunes. Constantine also announced on his website that he will play a 1980s record executive in the upcoming movie adaptation of Rock of Ages. He joins an all-star cast which includes Tom Cruise, Julianne Hough, Diego Boneta, and Malin Akerman among others. This past April, Constantine returned to the American Idol stage to perform “Unchained Melody.”
If you're in Dallas this weekend, you can catch the birthday boy at the Greek Food Festival. He'll be performing September 23 - 25.
Happy Birthday, Constantine!
