Daughtry posted the first single from its forthcoming album to the band's website Thursday. It's a hard rocking tune called Renegade, not to be confused with the Styx song of the same name that Chris Daughtry performed on American Idol.
Chris wrote the song with Daughtry bassist Josh Paul.The track is not yet available from iTunes or other digital retailers, but those pre-ordering the new album from the Daughtry website can get a download of Renegade now for free.By the way, Daughtry also has a track on an upcoming tribute to ZZ Top called A Tribute From Friends. The band covered Waitin' for the Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago. Also contributing to the compilation:Nickelback, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, country singer Jamey Johnson and a supergroup called The M.O.B. that features Steven Tyler.
